X3 is where the fibre ends and the switches begin. Cabling comes out of the wall into a rack, the rack holds switches and servers, the switches carry traffic between endpoints, cameras and access readers sit on the edge, and a monitoring system watches the whole thing.
Most vendors specialise in one part of this picture. Network integrators sell switches. Cabling companies pull Cat 6A. Security vendors install cameras. The joins between them are where integration fails, and where clients end up with three contracts, three points of accountability, and one system that doesn't quite work together.
We do the whole stack: network design, structured cabling, hardware procurement and installation, configuration, and ongoing management. Security systems — IP CCTV, access control, intrusion detection — integrated with the network rather than bolted on.
A properly designed X3 deployment has the camera network on its own VLAN, the access control on another, the corporate network on a third, and the out-of-band management on a fourth. Each is isolated, each is monitored, each has its own failure mode. This is how it should be designed on day one, not retrofitted after the first security audit.
